PFL BCA - Lasy Day of In-Class Training and the Temporary FAREWELL

PFL CSO 14

I am still feeling very overwhelmed by the feeling of being separated from the people that have been with me for the past 2 months. I cried and weep.
Already.
I am not even this sad when I am done with colleague.
I am never good dealing with farewell. I am not good with handling my sad emotions.
Knowing that I might never (hopefully not) meet some of these people that I have been with through a lot of things for 2 months and so.
We will and we must definitely meet again in 10 months and I hope our 'togetherness' will stay the same or even stronger with separation.

I found the winnie's wisdom words
I am literary, truly, madly, deeply blessed.
I am so thankful for GOD for letting me to meet this 19 awesome people.
I always believe that HE would filter all and only allow the best people to enter my life.

Now that I look back to my previous problems in finding jobs, all the struggle and fear [read here]
All paid off.

Now..
I meet good people, 19 of them at once. I have a good job with a good prospect. I am feeling blessed beyond words. I will never get enough of us!

I know that GOD doesn't let me have those jobs for a reasons and I think I get that now.
This is totally worth it.

The ambiance
We (me and 2 friends) came on Sunday afternoon around 12 pm and we choose to sit on the outside table as I think that the lighting will be ideal for photography, and it was perfect!
As soon as we ordered, we were served an appetizer.
I cannot exactly describe what that is. It is kind of a fried dough. I couldn't say I love it, but it was a good 'crunch' to have while waiting.

nomz jakarta grand indonesia, appetizer
ps: the flower smells soooo gooood!!
I want to take them home!
What we were ordering:

Nomz Curry Baramundi
Curry Baramundi (115K) -- the black bowl
This was the food that I ordered.
The size is pretty big that I couldn't even finish.
I love the curry sauce very much and I love how the elements of the food compliment each other well.
It taste somewhat Asian/Thailand food, somewhat savory yet sour and fresh.
Love it.
Nomz Benedict
Nomz Benedict (110K)
It was my friends meal. I honestly feel like this meal is overpriced.
It only consist of two layers of pancake (?) and 2 eggs and the platting is very plain. Just that pile of eggs and pancakes on a big, white plate. I honestly felt my friends disappointment when the benedict was served.
The eggs was slightly overcooked too, they didn't ooze the gooey yellow yolk when cut into half which is quite a disappointment as I expect more.
Mostlikely would not recommend this dish to anyone.

Nomz Chicken
Nomz Chicken (95K)
The meal was simple. It was practically fried chickens with garlic butter rice.
I was pretty disappointed too! The chicken was great but some of them (I remembered two) was undercooked.
It was the pink chicken!!! My friends ended up not eating those.
I really expect more. I didn't get to take pictures of the chicken tho (TT,TT)
Would not recommend others to have this.
I thought the Masterchef was suppose to be very strict about food safety.

Well, at least they have a great lightning

Hog's Breath Cafe Jakarta

Hog's Breath Indonesia

The new "IN" restaurant in Jakarta, it has been reviewed by couple of food bloggers like AnakJajan and Eatandtreas!  It is relatively easy to find as well as it was located on one of the biggest mall in Jakarta, Tribeca, Central Park Mall.

Hog's Breath Indonesia

We come at night and this is what it looks like. I am not smoking but I sat on the smoking area because of my friends wanted to sit on the sofa.

They have a saloon concept and they offer mostly steak and western food wit rusty feel. The concept itself makes me feel like some cowboy is going to jump out outta no where. LOL.
I came with a Buddhist friends who cannot ear beef, so we are having all chicken night.
Cajun Chicken Dijonaise - Hog's Breath Indonesia
Cajun Chicken Dijonaise - Hog's Breath Indonesia
The Cajun Chicken is the menu that I wanted to try. I love that the chicken is tender, juice, and perfectly seasoned! The portion is big and we have our fill. I love the fact that the side dishes are not neglected! The mashed potato was OK but the vegetable were seasoned and boiled until it is soft.
I can say that the side dishes matched the chicken pretty well.

Aglio Olio - Hog's Breath Indonesia

Next up is the pasta. For pasta, we are having a simple Aglio Olio and I cannot say that I love it. It is bit too greasy and under-seasoned. The cheese is kinda out of place and doesn't match that whole dish well.

Meat Lovers Pizza - Hog's Breath Indonesia
Meat Lovers Pizza - Hog's Breath Indonesia
Last but not least is the Pizza! We are ordering Meat Lovers Pizza but we switched all beef, bacon, and ham to chicken. This might not the one you will be having if you are a beef lover. LOL.
The pizza was OK. The bread was crispy and the toppings was good. But not too special.

I guess since it has a saloon and steak house concept, you should try the meat selection! ;)
It worth visiting and the portion was good!

The Legend of Noodles - 취강 해물짬뽕

So, I figure that since I was at Jakarta, why not have a fun culinary adventure and try all sort of food that I have been craving since God knows when? haha!

Anyway, I have been craving for Korean Food for quite a time by now and I luckily got to try the delicious, famous, and currently very "IN" in Jakarta, the LEGEND OF NOODLES!
Legend of Noodles Senopati Name Sign
Legend of Noodles
Originally opened at Senopati, South Jakarta; It has recently open a new branch at the "IT" place, PIK, North Jakarta. I went to the one in Senopati, tho.
The original place is always better, right? and I heard that the menus are more complete too! Plus there are so many Koreans that literally, the table on my front, back, northwest and south west are all Koreans!!!

Legend of Noodles Senopati
This is what the restaurant looks like on the inside.
They have second floor too!
It has the "Drivers' Restaurant Feel"

Legend of Noodles BanChan
Not much banchan is served.
I love the kimchi tho <3
Cold green tea is given in a big bottle, just like when you are in Korea, and it is self service.
Not long after, the food come!!

I cannot believe my eyes!
The bowl is no damn huge and the fillings are so damn generous!!
With 85K/bowl there are tons of seafood!!!!
I am in an awe!!
There are clams, prawns, small crabs, small octopus, and squid!

Look at those generous seafood!!!!

Jjajang Myeon Legend of Noodles Senopati
Jjajang Myeon
Hell good!!! I haven't taste a Jjajang Myeon quite like this one!!

The Jjajang Myeon is sooooo goooddddd!!! The noodles are chewy and soft, the meat and potatoes are plentiful, the gravy is spot on!!

I think the noodles are hand pulled. It is sooooo damn good!!!
and it is so long!! we have to cut it to consume it (OK, I share the two bowls so of course we have to cut it)
OK, now I look at the picture and I want to eat it again! Damn!
Will be revisiting soon!!!

I also ordered another plate of Tangsuyuk (Sweet-Sour-Pork) which is so good! and since it comes in the middle of our eating, I didn't manage to take the picture hahaha!
Glutton before Picture!

You should definitely visit this noodle house!
Did I mention that I have to park the car far far away because the parking area near the restaurant is very very full????
It is so damn good and so damn cheap, that's why there are a hell lot of people coming.
Oh, and when I visit, an ang mo comes for a visit too! haha! Just saying tho!

Anyway, the shop is located at:

The Failure, The Acceptance, and Hopefully the Success (part 3) + BCA Frontliner Recruitment Journey

This is a continuation post of my previous struggle. You can read part 1 and part 2 here.

Back for 1 months and until yesterday, I was on a recruitment process from one of the biggest bank in Indonesia, BCA

You know this bank right?
If you are asking why I choose to work there?
Here are the reason why?

  • They are the best that I can get here in Pontianak
  • They are biggest private bank (non-government) in Indonesia
  • They are kind to their employee (allowing rooms to develop and grow, good pays, lots of activities with prizes: overseas travelling!)
  • They pay is above average compared to other banks
  • Career ladder available if you are potential employee

But as they are big, they put a huge standard barrier for who ever entering the company. There are couple tests and interviews that the potential employees have to get through in order to join the company.
YES!!!
I have honestly throw away all my greed and ambition. I submitted my CV and then I was called 5 days later (on Friday) for a psychology test somewhere far from home. I really really really had a difficulty finding the place as I have never been to that area before. There were 12 of us.
For you guys living in Pontianak Area and are called for the psychology test at Phenomenon, Batara Indah I Blok A, you are looking for a housing complex (RUKAN perumahan). Go through the side door. The front door won't open and there is a name sign. The alley to the Rukan was right beside the big green mosque. Go straight after Mitra Mart.

I was then called for an interview with the HRD on Thursday morning, a week after. The interview is suppose to end after 15 minutes somehow extended to 45 minutes! I have a good talk with the two ladies. They are kind and facilitating. I was applying for what-so-ever job opening available at the bank at the moment. The available job is Magang Bakti, a program which is a contract job that have a chance of being the permanent employee through tests after a year. I honestly have no problem with that but somehow people around me have big problems with it. HAHA. FYI, I graduated from a University in Malaysia. I personally do not really care. I believe that BCA is fair and if I am doing a great job, they would want to promote me for sure. It doesn't matter where you start anyway. The interview ended up really really well, I guess. Because I was called for an interview with the Head of Operational that evening, for Friday the next day. There were only 6 of us left at this point.

I thanked God that the process was so extremely fast!! Friday I met the Head of Operational Division. She is a very beautiful lady. The interview went out really smooth and it only lasted for 15 minutes. After that we were told to do a medical check up (no fasting needed) at Biomedis Lab (near Ligo).
For you guys living in Pontianak Area, I suggest you to do the check up on 5 PM instead of 8 AM as you will need to do a hell lot of running around the town. After your blood and urine taken, you will do a lung roentgen at the other Biomedis that only open at 5 PM! Then you will have to go to dr. Joseph at Jeruju (opposite the big Petrol Station) to take some physical examination. Then you will have to bring the results back to the first Biomedis Lab. What a long and messy trip, right? *sigh
I actually went to the Lab around 8 AM and surprisingly I got a phone call from the HRD that I have to do another additional interview with the HQ HRD on SATURDAY! I honestly thought I heard it wrong. Saturday? For real? However, after double checking and a bit confusion, I agreed to it. I finished my medical check up on Friday. Anyway, on this stage there were only 3 of us left.

On Saturday, I met with one of the Pontianak's HRD and the HQ's HRD. I met some girls from Magang Bakti program as well. I filled the permanent employee form!! That gives me some weird hope, honestly. After that, it was another casual interview that went quite well. I was offered a Marketing position which I was somewhat hesitated at that moment. But I answered her that: "If BCA think that I am capable of, and I was given the chances, I will take it" and that is all. I went home with a lot of question in my head. I was the only one out of 3 of us called for this interview.

On Monday two days after the additional interview, I was called by Ms. Irene. I will be placed on Marketing Division and I need to do another online test. There are 4 test: Logical, Numerical Interpretation, Language Interpretation, Psychology. All are timed except for the Psychology test. I did the example test quite well but the main test quite poorly, I guess. IDK.

I was then waiting and hoping until I had a call from Pontianak's HRD to meet the Head of Operational once again on Thursday. I was scared and exited for unknown reasons. I came so early that I waited for 45 minutes. LOL, so eager. I was told that I didn't reach up to the HQ's standard for the Marketing Division, so I will still be posted as a Frontliner, but not on Magang Bakti's Program. I cannot be happier. It is the Frontliner Program! The Head of Operational asked for my commitment as the class will only begin on End of October and the quota for Pontianak is only 1 person and for this period, it will be me! She then explained to me about the benefits and the training and everything. Thank you God!!!!

For someone who has thrown away all hope for the better, this is an unexpected joy. The only thing that I need to do is to do another medical check up (Urine Test) and to prepare all the needed documents!

There needed documents are:

  • Original SKCK (Surat Keterangan Catatan Kepolisian), you will need:
    • Rp 10,000 for Registration
    • Surat Kelurahan (Surat Pernyataan Diri)
    • Photo 4x6 (2pcs), 2x3(1pc) - Red Background
    • Copy of Family Registry
    • SKCK Form
    • You will have to have your finger prints taken first (The registration fee is Rp 10,000)
  • Copy of 1st page Saving Book (for Salary transfer)
  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Copy of Family Registry
  • Copy of ID Card + Mom ID Card
  • Copy of NPWP
  • Photo 4x6 (2 pcs) - Red Background
  • BPJS Form (if you already have it)
  • 3-4 Forms ( you will get these from them)
It took me 2 days to collect all documents and submit them to BCA HRD!

It really takes time and patient to collect the documents.
The SKCK needs so many documents. Plan your time wisely.

To Conclude:
After all the struggles, worries, tears, quarter life crisis, and all the bad stuff happens before.
After 4 interviews, 2 Tests, and 1,5(?) Medical Check Up!
I finally and officially join the biggest Private Bank in Indonesia.
I hope that this is where my path for success is created.

This is not the end.
There is nothing final in this world, whether it is failure or it is success.
As long as you are still breathing, the possibility is limitless.
Isn't the one who fall the hardest, will bounce the highest?

To anyone facing problems in which there seems to be no solutions,
Work harder and Pray. As happiness is not forever, so does sadness.
Leave your problems to God and ask for strength, guidance, and wisdom.
Tell Him to let His will Be as His will is always better than ours.
If you fail again afterwards, take it another lesson to learn and that His time is not yet come.
Nothing that ever happens to you, happens for nothing.
Everything happens for a reason. Reasons that you will cherish later on.
I wish you all the best of luck.

The Failure, The Acceptance, and Hopefully, The Success (part 1)

I have been taking a break from all the internet postings lately.
I started writing blog to pour my heart content in the writing as the burden that I bear is almost unbearable.
I am not a strong girl. I know it from a long time ago. I am not persistent, and I prefer to work smart, than work hard. I am INFJ and most probably Sanguine-Melancholic slash Phlegmatic. HAHA.

For you who do not know what is that:

Phlegmatic confirmed, I somewhat shift from Melancholic and Sanguine. (Like Riley from Inside Out)

Well, let me tell you the background of my story.

I was a little girl, born and raised until I was 16 in a small, small town in Borneo Island, Indonesia. I come from a Chinese family, the eldest of two daughter. As I am sure you all already heard about the rage of "wanting a male successor to continue the family name (lineage)" in the Chinese (and most probably majority of ASIAN culture affected by Confucianism) culture, my family was not an exception. Although I am lucky enough to have an open-minded parents for a small town.

I was able to go abroad to study, despite the mocking and disagreement from my big family (aunts and uncles). I vowed to make my parents proud, to be successful beyond measure to shut my big family up.

I went for university for 3 years, I graduated on 2012 and I start working on 2013 in a Korean Company in Jakarta, Indonesia. My salary was good, but than I want more challenge. I admit I was naive and greedy back then. Not knowing much about the world, I quit the perfectly good job with good boss and good friends to look for another one. It was April 2014 and I was 23 years old.

Might be one of the stupidest things that I have ever done, or not.

I got my new job in less than a month, that was a good job at first. I got to meet lots of business people, there is a chance to travel, the pay was less than my previous job, but with more flexible working hour. I took the job without much hesitation and high hope. I started on June 2014, with a-suppose-to-be 1 month training at East Java, Indonesia. I went gleefully, with high hope and spirit.
Little that I know that the ending will not be pretty. I was placed there for 6 months a.k.a half a year with uncertainty when will I be positioned back to Jakarta due to technical reasons which I would rather not mentioned here. FYI, the town is foreign to me. I was never been there before, I know 2 people before I went there. I was placed in the factory 1-2 hours ride from the rental house provided by the company. I was lonely, I was uncertain, I feel hopeless. I was stressed because the company was literally not systematize.
Therefore, with the uncertainty of the future, the stresses, and the loneliness, I decided that the job didn't worth my time at all. I quit on November 2014 to go back to my hometown.

This might be one of the best things that I have ever done to myself.

This, is my FAILURE STAGE

(To Be Continued to part two... here)
