POMM Korean Bags

Alright, this is meant to be a random short post. 

I just wanna share with you about the good mini hand bag that I have just bought.

It is from a brand called "PoMM" claimed to be manufactured in Korea.

I found this accidentally when I was browsing through Qoo10.co.id, looking for a mini handbag.

The review for this products is good and it was on a half price reduction promo from IDR 598,000.- to 289,000.-

Thinking that it worth the try, I bought it!

The shipping is from Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia and it reach my place (I was at Jakarta ATM) in a week.

The packaging was super good!

They put layers and layers of bubble wrap and plastic wrap.

It also comes with a cute dust bag with the brand written on it.

There are 3 colours available: black, hot pink, and beige.

I was looking for a black bag, hence the colour choice I made.

You can use the sling 'rope' up to your likings.

The leather quality is very good for the price.

a friend of mine actually want to buy the bag to find out that the 50% promo is over.

She decided not to buy it then. (I was feeling pretty lucky back then) LOL

PFL BCA - BRANCH OJT [The First Week]

I am officially done with my first week at BCA KCU Pontianak, my placement branch for the next 9++ months.

On my first day, I am so confused as any of you would be on your first day at work.

I have been there as a customer, but not the employee. 

So, of course I am perplex.

Where do employee enter the building from, Who to meet first, What to do, and What will happen next?

Big Question Mark

The answers are:

Where to enter from as an employee?  

Ask the security or follow the current employee (let them lead the way)

Who to meet first?  

I am meeting my Kalay first (according to the letter given to me), but actually it was the HRD I should have met first! (my bad)

What to do?  

The answer will varies from branches to branches as they have their own regulations. 

Since I was meeting my Kalay, I gave her my letter and I just follow her lead from then.

What will happen next?

This answer will also be different from branches to branches. 

I was immediately join the morning briefing where I got to introduce myself then I was sent to observation at the counter. 

So let me tell you my complete story.

On my first day, I come a bit 'late' then I suppose to. I come around 7:05 am but they already had the morning briefing, in time for my introduction. I know that the service hour starts at 7:30, with briefing at 7:15 but on Monday, they are a tad bit earlier than usual. I am consider late for my first day. TT.TT Please check your branch operational service hour at least one day before your first day. 

Then, I handed over my letter to my Kalay and KOC. I had a brief introduction and I was told to do some observation first at CS Counter for a day, and CS Desk for a day (second day); which I did. 

On my third day, I started to open a counter on my own. I held 3 account opening on my own, with my mentor assistant. All went well.

On my fourth day, I open the counter all on my own with my mentor only sitting besides me to note mistakes. All went pretty well!

On my fifth day, I was left to open the counter myself and I was given a spare ID, which means I will bear all the responsibilities myself. It was nerve wreaking most frightening experience I have ever encounter. I was so nervous that I forget some small things and I have to call the customers for it, which I am very sad and sorry for. 

I need to learn a lot of things and I am going to learn it soon and as fast as I could. I feel like I am the dumbest now in the group and that upset me. 

What everyone must have been thinking about me

Anyway, please take note about:

• Service Hour
Get to know everything you could about your branch. If your both Observation and DO OJT are at you placement branch, then lucky you!
• Absent Card
My senior PFL friends do not even given a card when they come to their branch. I need to contact my PIC but he is no where to be found.

• Clothing
I come with uniform (yellow) but was ask to change to black and white the next day. Because I am not yet ready, which is fine with me.

• Hair
This differ between branches to branches. You will know there, but please have your hair do as you did on training. 

• What to do
Just follow the lead. Do not forget to apply for finger print scan for absence report. Do not forget to visit the HRD division.

• What to bring
Your spirit! LOL! The letter, small note book for note taking, pen, name tag, lunch (if you can), water bottle, and your TXN notes. Do not forget! Lastly,
• Try your best to remember your colleagues and superior names, smile, and always smile.

ps: the first 2 months will be hard! As hard as ****!!

NOTE: Always try to blend in with others. Some might treat you differently because you are a PFL. Stay humble and stay focus. You have a goal and so are they. We might be walking a different path but our destination is the same (the permanent employee). 

PFL is better equipped with the theories and deep understanding while others have the experience and better practical skills. We are both good in our different ways! If you cannot do things or you do not understand, ask! do not be discouraged. Share! Give! and you will receive.

PFL BCA - Duty Officer Internship [KCU Kalimalang]

It has been a long three days and I haven't get a chance to write any good blogpost for a while and I am going to be quite buzy for couple weeks ahead so I this is might be a good time to write a post. 

Today (2/12) is my last day of DO. In fact, I am doing my DO report at the moment.

If you ask me what it felt like? The answer is:

It was tiring but rewarding at the same time

Tired part, no question needed! If you are not tired, or have a sore feet, or have a blisters all over your feet, it is not DO. I have blisters and band-aid all over my feet on the day 2. 

Pardon my toes but I really want to post them. =P

Rewarding part, I cannot really explain this very well but you kinda get the feeling of satisfaction from all the help and services that you provided for the customers and how some of them reply by showing gestures of thankfulness. I am proud and happy at the same time when that happen. This is when I really think to myself that this is a good job. That I might do well in this job, that I want to do well.

OK, so I was 'randomly' placed at BCA KCU Kalimalang, East Jakarta.

Considering the place that I am renting right now, it was far far far away. According to Google Maps, it was 22 KM away!!

It should take around 1 hour by car on working hours.

I was considering using Gojek but because my parents were too worried of the long distance road, I ended up staying at relatives' house for 5 days (since Friday night) which was awesome!! HAHA!

What about BCA KCU Kalimalang?

• They have the best, kindest, loveliest, angelic Kalay (Kelapa Layanan) EVERRR!! (or so from the little comparison that I have)

• They are big! The building itself consist of 4 floors + basement. I made some maps for my ppt.

• The atmosphere is much more relax and lenient than my first intern branch (KCU Thamrin) and it is much much much more crowded with customers ranging from senior citizen to students.

• There are a lot of securities and they are friendly and highly educated about the products and procedures. They make a good DO partners. Honestly, on my first day the Teller's DO was 'borrowed' by smaller branch and I need to get by the whole day as DO, alone. On my first day. On Monday (Ughh, busy Monday! The branches closed around 15:15 and 'really closed' around 16:00).  I receive a great help from the security officers.

To Do List (Preparation):

• Buy a comfortable shoes (some branches allows black flat shoes, it will be nice if you get information ahead, I didn't)

• If you have time and resources, check out the locations one day before. If possible, get to know if you can wear flat shoes for DO (girls only)

• Come early on your first day. First impression lasts forever! 

• Get to know the branch layout and counters! (you will be questioned about this a lot!!!)

• Get to know the forms needed for each transactions (for both teller and CSO forms, learn how to fill in as well. A lot of customers are confused you have to be able to guide them through)

• Drink enough water and bring some candy. You will be greetings people all the time, you do not want to have a bad breath.

• Ask where to have lunch in the morning while everyone is still not too busy.
• Take enough pictures to be put on your report.

To Do List (While On Duty):

• Smile and Greet, Always!!

• Ask if you do not know! Do not give some random answers, it will get back to you.

• Check the forms, do not let them run out.

• Help the customers that look confused or worried. They are the one who needed help the most.

• Do not act high and mighty. Learn from everyone. Remember that everyone is smarter and more experienced than you! Do never act differently to people just because of their background! Treat others the way you want to be treated! (one of my life motto).

• Learn from your mistakes. Do not repeat the same mistakes!

DO Report:

• Do not forget to take pictures
• Ask the Kalay for in-depth information (branch hierarchy, majority transactions, etc)
• Remember the layout
• Remember each touching/important moments
• Take note of possible improvements
• Do it ASAP. You only have little time to finish this one

That's all.
You shall be fine.

Remember to be friendly and down to earth! 

Use this chance to the fullest to get the enough the experience needed for your job later at branch office.

This is nearly the end of the in-class training.
Use this time efficiently and spend quality time with your beloved classmates.
I would suggest to start packing your stuff. The books weight around 3 KGs each. You will need space for uniforms as well (2 blazers, 3 blouses, skirts, and long pants), for men you will need to make your own pants!

Christmas is just around the corner! I live in a tropical country therefore I cannot say that "the winter is getting colder, or I am going to change my wardrobe for winter" but the Christmas season is always felt everywhere in the town!

I have been waiting for the whole 10-11 months for the Christmas specials to finally be launched!

First on the list is of course the Starbucks Toffee Nut Latte!

Tastes like Heaven!

I couldn't even begin to describe how good it taste!

It has this sweet and nutty flavor to it! Marvelous!

Favorite drinks of all time! Beating the Caramel Macchiato!

But what I am going to discuss more is the Bath and Body Works Christmas Specials, Winter Candy Apple!

I purchased them once last year when I was still working at Surabaya, East Java.

Look at the packaging.

Isn't it adorable and has that Christmas feel much?

I really love the smell! I even bought the body spray!!

It has this sweet candy scent blended nicely with hint of apple! 

I love apple and I love sweet candy smell! 

I really love this! 

It is one of my favorite body lotion of all time! I am going to purchase even more of this for the months to come! TT^TT

Not only amazingly fragrant, the lotion is moisturizing as well without being sticky.

I love the feeling of having moisture on my skin but I hate the sticky feel of lotions on my skin. 

I also feel gross when I am sweaty after applying lotions on my skin. 

But I didn't fell that way with this lotion!

I think it absorbed nicely as fast!

Arghhh.. In short, I love it!

You have to try it too!!!

Nomz Kitchen and Pastry is located in a quite strategic location. Inside one of the most prestigious mall in Jakarta,  Grand Indonesia.

As written on their website, the restaurant was founded by Chef Arnold Poernomo and Pastry Chef Kim Pangestu.  Some of the chef includes Chef Arnold's younger brother Reynold Poernomo and a Master Chef from Australia, originally from Vietnam, Kha Nguyen.

The ambiance

We (me and 2 friends) came on Sunday afternoon around 12 pm and we choose to sit on the outside table as I think that the lighting will be ideal for photography, and it was perfect!

As soon as we ordered, we were served an appetizer. 

I cannot exactly describe what that is. It is kind of a fried dough. I couldn't say I love it, but it was a good 'crunch' to have while waiting.

What we were ordering:

Curry Baramundi (115K) -- the black bowl
This was the food that I ordered.
The size is pretty big that I couldn't even finish.
I love the curry sauce very much and I love how the elements of the food compliment each other well.
It taste somewhat Asian/Thailand food, somewhat savory yet sour and fresh.
Love it.

Nomz Benedict (110K)
It was my friends meal. I honestly feel like this meal is overpriced.
It only consist of two layers of pancake (?) and 2 eggs and the platting is very plain. Just that pile of eggs and pancakes on a big, white plate. I honestly felt my friends disappointment when the benedict was served.
The eggs was slightly overcooked too, they didn't ooze the gooey yellow yolk when cut into half which is quite a disappointment as I expect more.
Mostlikely would not recommend this dish to anyone.

Nomz Chicken (95K)
The meal was simple. It was practically fried chickens with garlic butter rice.
I was pretty disappointed too! The chicken was great but some of them (I remembered two) was undercooked.
It was the pink chicken!!! My friends ended up not eating those.
I really expect more. I didn't get to take pictures of the chicken tho (TT,TT)
Would not recommend others to have this.
I thought the Masterchef was suppose to be very strict about food safety.

PFL BCA - Valuable Person by MIC

TRY NOT TO BECOME A PERSON OF SUCCESS BUT RATHER TRY TO BECOME A MAN OF VALUE

As one part of our PFL Training, it is compulsory for us to join the Valuable Person Training at Lor In Hotel, Sentul. The training will only be held for 2 days 1 night but I guarantee that you will get to learn a lot.

On the D day, you will need to be at Wisma Asia 2 by 6.30 AM latest or you will be left behind.

The journey only took 1-1,5 hours. It is quite close by.

It is still on construction progress. It is still dusty and look incomplete.
Anyway, it is not a uniform given by the committee, we are buying the same polo shirt as our class 'code'.

We are allowed to bring our phone with us but I was too busy socializing and eating and taking selfies that I forgot to take picture of the hotel itself. I will put some of my selfies pictures, tho.

My overall impression of the training is that:

It was not exactly and eyeopening as I have personally know most of the material but it was quite a reassurance of the values that I have held.

The trainers' efforts and speeches are genuinely heartfelt.

They let us know by examples. Some of the examples are their own experience and some they let us experience it ourselves. I often felt their sincerity through those stories.

I learn to be thankful for every little things that I have; especially those blessings that I have taken for granted all this while.

This is the sort of training that every person should go to!

You will get a lot of things on this training. It was called experimental training. It will taught you how to be grateful for everything.

• For things that we often taken for granted like our eyes, limbs, and voice. Remember that God was never obliged to give us a complete body with good eyes to see the world,  voice to talk, or good ear to listen but He did. That is a blessing that we usually neglect. 

• For our parents and siblings. That we are still be given time and chances to be with them and share our happiness with them. That they are still alive and well is a blessing that we need to be thankful for, everyday.
• For our job and our financial situation. We might not be happy with our current job. We might be tired of routine and stress from our job. But we still need to be thankful that we still have a job where there are thousands of jobless people, dreaming for a chance to be in our current position. We need to be happy for what we are paid for and instead of complaining and being idle, we need to work harder to get an even higher pay and position in the future. Like I said in my previous post, "It doesn't matter where you start, what matters is how you will finish." =)

• For our dreams and hope. "We need to look down to learn how to be grateful, but we also have to look up to know that we can still thrive." this is one of the sentence that I have heard/read somewhere and it has left a mark in my brain ever since. We should be thankful that we are still be allowed to dream and hope and that we are taking all the efforts we have to make it into realization. We must not surrender to our fate but we have to fight to overcome it. 



A famous inspiring quote by our first president, Ir Soekarno:
"Place your dream as high as the sky... because if you fall, you will fall among the stars"

• And more things that I couldn't mentioned one by one.

There are lots of surprises and experiences that you should experienced for yourself and I will not let myself spoiling your excitement by giving too much information.

What you should bring:

• Toiletries (the hotels amenities is limited)
• Tissues (do not ask why. Just trust me and bring it)
• Towels, we have a hard time getting towels. We waited until over 8 pm to get the towel.
• Comfortable shoes or flat shoes, no slippers. There are some outdoor activities.
• Snacks for supper if you usually had one.
• Water bottle (I am a heavy water drinker.. so...)
• Money, at least bring Rp 100,000,- (trust me, you will need this)
• Clothes (2 or more Jeans trousers - no shorts, T-shirts/Polo shirts as needed, others as needed)
• Hair ties for you, girls with long hair.
• Hairdryer!!
• Jacket or cardigans (outdoor activities, remember?)
• Personal meds if you think you will need them.
• Do not need to bring any stationary, it will be provided.
• Open mind and ready to learn mindset.

You are ready to go.

Hog's Breath Cafe Jakarta

The new "IN" restaurant in Jakarta, it has been reviewed by couple of food bloggers like AnakJajan and Eatandtreas!  It is relatively easy to find as well as it was located on one of the biggest mall in Jakarta, Tribeca, Central Park Mall.

We come at night and this is what it looks like. I am not smoking but I sat on the smoking area because of my friends wanted to sit on the sofa.

They have a saloon concept and they offer mostly steak and western food wit rusty feel. The concept itself makes me feel like some cowboy is going to jump out outta no where. LOL. 

I came with a Buddhist friends who cannot ear beef, so we are having all chicken night. 

Cajun Chicken Dijonaise - Hog's Breath Indonesia

The Cajun Chicken is the menu that I wanted to try. I love that the chicken is tender, juice, and perfectly seasoned! The portion is big and we have our fill. I love the fact that the side dishes are not neglected! The mashed potato was OK but the vegetable were seasoned and boiled until it is soft. 

I can say that the side dishes matched the chicken pretty well.

Aglio Olio - Hog's Breath Indonesia

Next up is the pasta. For pasta, we are having a simple Aglio Olio and I cannot say that I love it. It is bit too greasy and under-seasoned. The cheese is kinda out of place and doesn't match that whole dish well.

Meat Lovers Pizza - Hog's Breath Indonesia

Last but not least is the Pizza! We are ordering Meat Lovers Pizza but we switched all beef, bacon, and ham to chicken. This might not the one you will be having if you are a beef lover. LOL.

The pizza was OK. The bread was crispy and the toppings was good. But not too special. 

I guess since it has a saloon and steak house concept, you should try the meat selection! ;)

It worth visiting and the portion was good!

The Legend of Noodles - 취강 해물짬뽕

So, I figure that since I was at Jakarta, why not have a fun culinary adventure and try all sort of food that I have been craving since God knows when? haha!

Anyway, I have been craving for Korean Food for quite a time by now and I luckily got to try the delicious, famous, and currently very "IN" in Jakarta, the LEGEND OF NOODLES!

Legend of Noodles

Originally opened at Senopati, South Jakarta; It has recently open a new branch at the "IT" place, PIK, North Jakarta. I went to the one in Senopati, tho. 

The original place is always better, right? and I heard that the menus are more complete too! Plus there are so many Koreans that literally, the table on my front, back, northwest and south west are all Koreans!!!

Cold green tea is given in a big bottle, just like when you are in Korea, and it is self service.

The bowl is no damn huge and the fillings are so damn generous!!

With 85K/bowl there are tons of seafood!!!!

I am in an awe!!

There are clams, prawns, small crabs, small octopus, and squid!

Jjajang Myeon
Hell good!!! I haven't taste a Jjajang Myeon quite like this one!!

The Jjajang Myeon is sooooo goooddddd!!! The noodles are chewy and soft, the meat and potatoes are plentiful, the gravy is spot on!!

I think the noodles are hand pulled. It is sooooo damn good!!!

and it is so long!! we have to cut it to consume it (OK, I share the two bowls so of course we have to cut it)

OK, now I look at the picture and I want to eat it again! Damn!

Will be revisiting soon!!!

I also ordered another plate of Tangsuyuk (Sweet-Sour-Pork) which is so good! and since it comes in the middle of our eating, I didn't manage to take the picture hahaha!

Did I mention that I have to park the car far far away because the parking area near the restaurant is very very full????

It is so damn good and so damn cheap, that's why there are a hell lot of people coming. 

Oh, and when I visit, an ang mo comes for a visit too! haha! Just saying tho!

BCA Frontliner Program (PFL) - Outbound Primasi at Ciawi Bogor

As a part of becoming a great CSO (a.k.a. employee of BCA bank), we are required to attend the training with Primasi, they are professional competency training company. As they are partnered with BCA for quite a long time already, I believe that they are qualified for the job! Although I personally think it is quite packed and too fast paced.

We were given a schedule on our first day trainee day, stating that we will be off for "Personal Excellence Program" on our third day for 3 days and 2 nights stay at Bogor, Ciawi (1-2 hours from West Jakarta). We were suppose to be at our meeting point, which is Wisma Asia by 6 AM as the bus will took off at 6.15 sharp. This is a big challenge for those living far from the meeting point! 

Ps: if you missed the bus, you will need to find your own transport as the program is compulsory. 

Our schedule was held along with PAO and PRO group! Although we were seperated most of the time on the program. 

PFL CSO 14
Wednesday 30 September 2015, 5.45 AM - Waiting for the Bus to take us to Ciawi, Bogor, Indonesia

We are going to stay at Santa Monica Resort at Ciawi. Phone are not allowed during the in class and out-door session and we are very busy as our schedule is quite packed. I managed to take some picture on our last day, and some are the pictures taken by our instructor.

Just arrived!

When we first arrived, we were given hot milo each (all the drinks here is extremely sweet!!). Then we were all be assigned to our rooms, 3 people in each room, to put down our stuff and to rest for a while. 

I was staying at Room Cherry 7B with 2 of my other friends, Stella and Rizky (girl)

The rooms look like some old wooden cottage. It is quite clean but humid as the resort itself was located on the mountain area.

You can hear your neighbouring room very very clear!
Be careful! Walls really have ears here!

There are 4 beds on the room and one toilet on the left. Doors are on the right of this picture.

There are 4 beds per room. The bed cover is smelly as it is quite humid.

This is why people are saying the BCA really take care of its employees! 

I get to meet awesome people and experienced great things! And I heard the training normally cost 5 million Rupiah per person! What an investment! 

Our room was located at the end of the stairways. I love how it looks on this picture! Haha!

The resort is quite vast! There are couple of separated field used for games!

I cannot tell too much about the games and in class lesson, as there will be competition involves and I think it will diminish the fun and mystery of the unknown if you get too much information beforehand. 

What I get from the 3 days and 2 night trip is that we were taught to:

• Believe in ourselves as we are great and blessed individuals! 

• Understand the importance of TEAM, COMMUNICATION, and DISCIPLINE.

• We learn the correct attitude to serve people (customer focus) 

• We learn how to get ourselves away from normal paradigm.

• We learn the theories in class and practice them ourselves outdoor! Therefore we really felt that we understand! Deeply and greatly.

• For fresh graduates, this is a really good programs as it helps you guys to transition from collage to work place. I didn't get this kind of luxury back then. I struggle a lot during my transition period.

On the first day, I can't wait for this activity to be done and go home. But on the last day, I feel a little bit sad by the thoughts that this activity is finally done today. 

Oh, we also get a certificate at the end of the last day.

Tips:

• Come on time!
• Bring extra towel, they only provide 2 towels in each room.

• Bring extra clothing, I brought 4 Tees, 3 trousers, 1 PJ and half dozens of undies. Bring more if you want to swim. They have quite a big swimming pool.

• Bring your own toiletries, they only provide small soap bars and tooth brush/paste.

• Bring sport shoes and sandals, some of the in door class allows you to wear sandals, but it is up to you to decide whichever comfortable.

• Do not wear clean trousers/shorts for morning outdoor activity. The soil is wet, therefore your pants will get wet! I wear mine twice! LOL!

• Just bring simple make-up tools, most of the time, you will just could not bother to wear any because your are too tired and you are going to sweat it away anyway. 

• Bring your own water bottle.

• Sleep well the day before. You will need all the energy you have.

• Do not need to eat breakfast on the first day. Breakfast will be provided on the bus.

• Bring you jacket, it is quite cold at some night

• Do not forget sunscreen, I got tan :'(

• Bring Hairdryer!! I regret not bringing mine. I look like a mess with my hair super wet. 

• Open your mind! Be ready to receive dozens of information! ☺️
